version 1 version 1 The version that started it all. Put up in the middle of August of 2000. This version was a very simple design. The main aspect of the design was a random image on the left side of the page, that would change upon the page load. Version 1 was basically put up quickly as a place holder for a couple of weeks until a better design was finished.

version 2 version 2 September 1st, 2000, version 2 came as a sudden inspiration. The design consisted of a single background image and html text over the top of it. Every page matched this layout. The main focus was the meshing of the images with the small blurbs of copy, which was mostly poetry written by associates. I wanted to keep the design in a small format, view-able on all monitors, large or small. At that time most sites were doing full elaborate flash sites, or full screen designs that often i needed to adjust my browser window to see. The small design was my way of saying that things didn’t need to be big and complex. The navigation was simple three columns with only three letters for each section displayed. This version I liked, but it lived for about a month.

version 3 version 3 First week of October 2000, version 3 came into existence. This is my least favorite version, but it served it purpose. I wanted to do it in frames, where the top and bottom frames contained a biblicone graphical header. no navigation was here. The navigation was text only and located on the left side of the main content frame. I wanted this version to fit in any size browser, and fill it as well. This was accomplished. Another goal was to keep the content of this version growing and keep it contained in the same design layout. This never happened. Only a handful of sections were developed for this section. Oh well.

version 4 version 4 Version 4 was a graphical only version. Once again, this version replaced the previous after about one month. This was an experiment in design allowing me to avoid any kind of coding. I let Image Ready code this for me. (lazy) There is no html copy in it. All of the copy was part of the graphics and there were a few simple roll overs. Each page has its own set of graphics to load. No images were reused on any other page. Usually I try to reuse images to keep the download of the site to a minimum for the viewers. But not this version. I also came back to use the small site layout, as version 2 utilized, where the site is centered in the browser and surrounded by white space.

version 5 version 5.1 Fifth version started up around the January of 2001. I was using frames as well as a complex pull down menu navigation that changed depending on what was selected. The home page was a mass of dhtml for the scrolling menu of news and so on. This was the first version using a dynamic news/blog type format. This was also the beginning of the Bibliskull as the logo. I also started dabbling with using ASP generated pages (with help of course). This was the largest load for viewers up to that point. A large image pattern in the background. The multitude of changing pull down code, and the massive amount of code for the dhtml scroll window. I could have used iframes (as i do now) but then I wanted to keep my site the same across varying browsers.

version 5.2 version 5.2 5.2 was about the same thing as 5.1, but a different color scheme and background image. The background image was meant to be somewhat abstract, but still give the feeling of the content, somewhat subliminally. It was basically a nude montage without showing nudity.

version 5.3 version 5.3 5.3 was about the same thing as 5.2, different background image. The background image was a photo I took of the Grand subway stop downtown chicago. The dhtml scroll section changed size somewhat, but other than that, the content was all the same.

version 6.1 version 6.1 6.1 came out around July of 2001. This was a continuation of my dhtml experiments. This version was also where I was experimenting using very large photos as the background. The navigation came out of the frameset because it was very hard to send links of specific sections when its all in a frameset. The pull down navigation was colored using css and this is were i finally started coding more for IE. Netscape was beginning to really become annoying.

version 6.2 version 6.2 6.2 was much like 6.1, but a different background image and matched the colors of the pull downs to the background image.

version 6.3 version 6.3 6.3 was given its face lift in November of 2001. The background image was taken from Michigan ave. over the Chicago river in Chicago.

version 7 version 7 This version was a major change from what was happening before. It was birthed around the end of January 2002. The main focus was to display the random photos on the home page. The background went to a neutral gray color and everything was muted back, except for the photos. This was also my first design mainly for use in IE, putting to use the iframe code that is so popular. This version also contained the most amount of back end changes throughout its life. I used blogger.com for new, and also got into using some cgi scripts for news called greymatter. Then to keep myself from getting bored with the site, I added a public news section. This was by putting to use a guest book perl script that I downloaded. I changed the hell out of the html code and adjusted some perl script just by guessing. haha. This version got probably the most recognition including a Coolstop.com best of cool on 03/17/02. This version has lasted the longest, until now.

version 8 version 8 Version 8. Born at the end of April 2002. This version brought some color back into the design, uses very heavily the iframe for content. Multiple windows for public news posts and personal site news. Flash was used in the image display on the right side of the homepage. Still using the pull down navigation. Just seems to work well for me. The site still centers itself in the browser, but now its at a much larger size than in the early days.

version 9 version 9 Version 9 was my answer to seeing so many websites with loading screens or heavily animated navigation or 200k images for the home page or splash pages or popup windows or changing of my browser window… and so on and so on. This time i put my time into allowing a style sheet control everything and have a very simplistic approach to the design of it, using minimal graphics and having most if it as text, but still maintaining a design quality that text sites sometimes dont utilize. Post date for this version was mid-July 2002.

version 10 version 10 This version was designed back in December of 2002. Nothing more than the home page got designed and built. I decided I didnt like the design after starting to code it. The idea was to make it very simple, with hardly any graphics and let color and layout take priority.

version 11 version 11 Version 11, aka the Army version. This was the version made just before I got out of the Army around Jan. 2005. I wanted to get the site database driven (finally) since there the content was growing quite quickly. I chose Wordpress for this version because it makes the database automatically. Again, I wanted to keep the design simple and also reflect where I was at the time: post army.
